Having been in the HR and Business Development roles, I have no working experience of any sorts or a portfolio to show off to prospective employers but I really want to be a copywriter. Can anyone suggest what I should do to land myself a job as a copywriter?

I am a corporate communications professional with years of PR, Marketing and copywriting experience including creating SEO friendly content for the Web. While you’re waiting though - have you thought of contacting some smaller businesses and offering your services for free in exchange for testimonials? (Much of the work you’ve done while employed may be difficult to prove as yours …)

It could be small jobs that wouldn’t take too long - and you end up with some examples (before - after) and feedback that your prospective clients can see? (and coach your freebie clients to get the right sort of testimonial) …

Also, have you got your own website up yet?

I am curious to know other people’s schedules as well if they are a full time student in college. I would like to know what to expect when i go to college, the following is one term in the program of the course i want to take.. I would love to know what some class times are, what days some people get off and how busy you are during the week

The number beside the course are the credits. So what would my daily\weekly schedule be ?? I know people won’t know the actual schedule, but by looking at term one what do you think i should expect in terms of my week/classes and out of class time. Were you a full time student in college and what was your average week?

Well if you are takeing 18 hours, you will be in class 18 hours. Then for every hour in class, they experts say you should be studying 2 to 3 hours for every hour in class that is 36 to 54 hours more per week. My sister did marketing and had a lot of group projects.

Looks like the price competition can be a killer on those sites, it’s better to market yourself, becoming an established name, with your own site, ultimately so people come to you with projects, you might use product marketing tactics like giving away a report to email opt ins who you can continue to provide free teaser information.

There’s a course by an Irishman "Freelance Article Writing Secrets" that was a WSO I believe now off the market, He described methods to build a business producing revenues far beyond an hourly rate.

I’ve found that CraigsList seems to be one of the only places where I can find the occasional freelance copywriting job posting. Does anyone know of any other good sites for finding freelance copycopywriting opportunities?

But there aren’t many copy editing jobs posted. Mostly writing jobs. Still, good to check this section and the regular newspaper posts.
