It’s not illegal to post publicly available information about a company.

But, it’s more than likely illegal to post as if you represent the company.

writer is the author of the piece. They do the research, write it, revise, edit. A copywriter, writes the copy for the book. Copy is industry lingo for advertising. So a copywriter writes some blurbs, writes pitches to book stores, works with people in production on posters. They might also write press releases to be sent out to reviewers (the people that rate the books in magazines)

In the USA you can prove your composition is yours by sealing an original copy in an envelope, taking it to the post office and having the sealed envelope certified and dated. Mail it to yourself and never open the envelope.
If someone steals and uses your composition, you can prove you wrote it first by having a judge open the letter in court.
It will only cost you legal fees when you have to do that. Hire a lawyer only if the need to make a claim arises.
Be aware that if you publish it on the internet, it will be out there and the whole world will get the opportunity to "steal" your work. Can you catch everyone who may be singing it in pubs all over Europe and Asia?

Then it is yours. State Copyright 2010 (your name). There is no provision in UK copyright law for anything further, unlike in the US where a person MAY choose to register the work.

While you’re waiting though - have you thought of contacting some smaller businesses and offering your services for free in exchange for testimonials? (Much of the work you’ve done while employed may be difficult to prove as yours …)

It could be small jobs that wouldn’t take too long - and you end up with some examples (before - after) and feedback that your prospective clients can see? (and coach your freebie clients to get the right sort of testimonial) …

Also, have you got your own website up yet?

Well if you are takeing 18 hours, you will be in class 18 hours. Then for every hour in class, they experts say you should be studying 2 to 3 hours for every hour in class that is 36 to 54 hours more per week. My sister did marketing and had a lot of group projects.
